Caring for your safety on the water

All Training is VETAB accredited, nationally recognised training package competencies.

NSW Maritime made the 'NSW Boat Licence Test' more difficult in October 2005 and include a section of compulsory questions. Since that time it is fair to say that many applicants have struggled to pass the test unless students are well prepared beforehand. The aim is to make people more aware of the dangers associated with boating and to be safe on the water. Compulsory seminars commence on the 1st October 2006

Family Safety

We encourage all people new to the boating industry to come along as a family and learn basic training. Over the last 4 years more people are opting for training through a Registered Training Organisation to ensure that they have the basics in place for the safety of family and friends on the water.

Boating Safety

The Maritime Authority and the College remind all recreational boaties that it is the experience gained in a variety of conditions that will develop skill, competence, awareness and confidence on the water.

New 'Boaties'

New 'boaties' are advised to gain accredited training before going on the water. Many people choose to do the NSW Boating College training as a preparation, even before purchasing a boat and/or marine safety equipment. To obtain a NSW PWC licence you must first of all pass the NSW Maritime general boat licence test.

People new to boating are encouraged to complete approved training
